Third Quarter Net sales for the quarter amounted to SEK 2,139m (2,772), corresponding to a decrease of 22.8 percent. Adjusted for exchange rate fluctuations, sales declined 29.4 percent. On September 11, 2022, Thule Group gave a trading update on the negative impact of the current market situation in bike retail. High inventory levels of bicycles and bicycle accessories at retailers in Europe as well as North America were expected to negatively impact Thule Group’s sales and profitability until the next bike season, spring 2023.
On Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 07:45 a.m. (CET) Thule Group AB (publ) will present the interim report for the third quarter (July-September), 2022. Following the report’s publication, Thule Group will arrange a conference call with a web presentation.
In accordance with the decision of the Annual General Meeting, Thule Group´s nomination committee shall consist of the four largest shareholders as of August 31 each year and the Chairman of the Board, who also convenes the first meeting of the Nomination Committee. Thule Group communicated in the half-year report on July 21 that the general market situation in bike retail, at the time, was unstable with high inventory levels of bikes and bike accessories in the low- to mid-price segment and that the situation could impact the demand for Thule products. The situation has amplified, as bike retailers around the world have reduced their purchases significantly in the third quarter when comparing with the record year 2021. We believe that the chosen approach of the bike retail sector will continue in the near future and therefore impact Thule Group with reduced sales and profitability until next biking season in the spring of 2023.

The Kind + Jugend trade fair taking place on September 8-10 in Cologne, Germany, is one of the leading international juvenile fairs – the perfect place for Thule to announce its entry into a new juvenile product category, infant and toddler car seats. At the trade show Thule will show retailers many new products for next season, such as an innovative air purification solution for the Thule Shine stroller and an update of the entire child bike seat portfolio. Thule will also present Smidiga30, the brand’s concept for a battery-powered bike trailer that utilizes the latest in e-bike technology.
Kommunikation för mig handlar om relationer där stor vikt ligger i hur budskap framförs för att landa rätt hos mottagaren. Som rådgivare inom både IR- och hållbarhetskommunikation tror jag starkt på att långsiktigt värdeskapande och hållbarhet går hand i hand, och hur man kommunicerar kan göra verklig skillnad för förtroende, engagemang och relationer. Jag trivs i nära samarbeten där strategier formas i dialog. I mitt arbete möter jag olika bolag i olika branscher och faser, där både förutsedda och oförutsedda händelser kan inträffa. Innan min roll på Vero arbetade jag med revision på EY, främst mot noterade bolag, vilket gör att jag kombinerar ett tränat granskningsöga för siffror med förmågan att översätta komplexa fakta till strategisk och förtroendeskapande kommunikation.
